At a time when the speed of life seems to be increasing exponentially and schedules are packed to overflowing, consumers are searching for ways to find balance—and the wellness industry is thriving in response. While physical fitness will always be at the heart of the health and exercise professional’s work, let’s identify the key elements of wellness for a balanced life and explore why overall wellness deserves special attention for consumers and professionals alike.Fitness, specifically physical fitness, refers to the physical components of well-being that enable a person to function at an optimal level. Wellness, on the other hand, refers to the balance of a spectrum of health-related elements in one’s life.Popular culture has embraced the notion of whole-person wellness and personal balance. Clients often come to health and exercise professionals looking for a more holistic and wellness-based service. This is certainly not meant to downplay the importance of exercise and physical fitness.Starting a fitness program is often the first step someone might take toward becoming healthier. Once healthy habits are created around exercise, clients often have the confidence and desire to explore other facets of wellness.

Just passed this class in about 4 days( 3 days of 5hr study and 1 day to take the OA) What i did : I took the study guide at… I just don't like how left-leaning/woke some of this material and questions are. I'm here to get a degree, not to be indoctrinated. Also, what the hell does sexual harassment and "SEL" have to do with Health, Fitness, and Wellness 🙄Posted by u/Freshjive12 - 39 votes and 35 commentsStudy suggestions: Skip the course material and go straight to the videos and podcasts. The OA aligns very well with the chapter exams and the PA (even sharing the same questions).Just passed the class, took me a month because i was being lazy but in reality i studied for two days and took the test on the third, i just watched the videos and listened to the podcasts. Take the end of sections tests in the course material to help you out. the pre OA will help you gauge if you’ll pass. memorize the SEL chart as well.

Smart rings can help predict oncoming illnesses like COVID before they start. But do you really need one to monitor your everyday health? Some brands have also been carving out a niche among women, playing up their potential impact on women's health. In the US, women were not required to be included in medical research until 1993. "We need more data," Dr. Umbereen Nehal, a fem-tech founder and pediatrician, told BI. "I would like to have accurate, personalized care. I would like to prevent bad things happening to me." Women now make up the majority of Oura and Ultrahuman users (55% and 60%, respectively). Beyond sleep and fitness, a ring can use temperature to track a period — not a failsafe technique, but it's a non-invasive option to help people better plan when to have sex to conceive or avoid a pregnancy. There's also been an explosion of competitor rings, including the $349 Ultrahuman Ring Air, which debuted in 2022. In 2024, we've seen Samsung's $399 Galaxy ring enter the market as well as smaller devices like the longevity-focused and David Sinclair-backed $200 Virtusan ring.Nehal hasn't bought into the ring hype yet. In part, she says it's because the current rings are too "ugly" for her. But she also cautions consumers to maintain a "healthy skepticism" toward their wearables, and not take the data insights or recommendations as health gospel.Ultrahuman founder and CEO Mohit Kumar imagines that his customers will use the Ring Air as an entry point into what can be a whole body and house health monitoring system, complete with a CGM for tracking blood sugar and a CO2 scrubber for cleaning the air.

We covered trends like “dirty soda,” “girl dinner” and “sexy water” and debunked a few — like Celtic sea salt and chin straps — too.
